MEASURE IT RIGHT

Certification starts with a number that holds up.

Who We Are

Why Measurement Gets Rejected.

Most failed submissions come down to one of three problems: wrong reference point, unclear photo, or no measuring device visible in frame.

FCA reviews every catch manually. If the number can’t be confirmed from your photo, it can’t be certified.

Three Rules.

Based on verified species measurements

I

Measure to the Fork

Measure to the fork of the tail. Not the tip. Not approximate. Fork length is the FCA standard for all species.

II

Flat Measuring Board

Use a flat measuring board or fixed tape. Handheld flexible tape introduces error. The board must be visible in your photo.

III

Full Length in Frame

One photo with the full length in frame. Fish horizontal. Board readable. No cropping below the tail.
